E-Drive System
With an EDrive upgrade installed in your 2004 or later year Toyota Prius, you won't miss those trips to the gas station as your daily commute driving range expands to well over 1000 miles per fill-up. EDrive allows a substantial amount of gasoline to be displaced by electricity when you charge nightly and drive locally. Using any 110-volt wall socket, your EDrive Prius can be plugged in overnight to recharge an expanded lithium-ion battery system. With a full charge, expect to see over 100 miles per gallon for the first 50 miles of your daily drive under average conditions. On the open road past 50 miles, or if you forget to plug it in, your EDrive Prius will behave like a normal Prius gasoline-electric hybrid. Cost of E-Drive is $10,000-$12,000 (installed).

Phoenix Motorcars manufactures zero-emission, freeway-speed fleet vehicles. It is an early leader in the mass production of full function, green electric trucks and SUVs for commercial fleet use. Based in Ontario, California, Phoenix Motorcars uses the NanoSafeô battery, a non-toxic, all-battery solution to eliminate noise and toxic vehicle emissions that contribute to air pollution.

Reva Motors
This new electric car developed in India has a range of up to 40 miles, and a 40mph top speed . There's an article about its debut (as the "G-Wiz") here. They're being sold by GoinGreen in the UK for about 10,000 EUR ($12,373.95 US).

Sherpa Electric Vehicle
The Sherpa is an electric powered delivery vehicle designed to carry up to 6000 lbs with ease. Sherpa-3000 can travel speeds up to 32 m.p.h. and has range of 75 miles in a single charge. They come in three basic models, a truck, tram and a shuttle bus.

Solectria
Three models to choose from: a 4-door sedan (the Force, shown above), a step-van, and a pickup truck. The Sparrow

The Spyder

The Tango
At zero-to-60 mph in 4 seconds, this two-seater is not your Father's Oldsmobile! Production is estimated to begin 2004. The original limited production Tango kits are expected to cost $85,000. These will be sold as easy-to-assemble kits requiring approximately 8 hours of assembly.

Tesla Motors
The Tesla Roadster is 100% electric, not hybrid; it has a 250+ mile range. With a focus on performance, it makes it an exceptionally quick car. Major VC backed, as well as backing from Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX ($40 million). Company will be showing off the car July 19 in Santa Monica.

The City is a two seater car. Range = 53 miles; Acceleration = 0 to 50 km/hr (31 mph) in 7 sec; Maximum speed = 90 km/hr (56 mph); it can be recharged up to 80 percent state of charge within five-six hours, but it is also possible to recharge the batteries in shorter intervals (to achieve full battery capacity, the car must be recharged in seven-eight hours); Cost = only available for lease - check with Ford for dealership information. The Nickel Cadmium batteries, which weigh about 250 kg (550 lbs), are located under the seats and should last up to ten years.

Toyota RAV4 Electric
An electric version of the popular SUV. Range = up to 125 miles; Acceleration = 0 to 50 mph in 18 sec; Maximum speed = 78 mph; Charger = 220V/30A & 6.5 hr charge time; Estimated cost = lease for a one-time payment of $16,000 for 36 months, or $477 a month for the same period (check with dealer for actual payment). The MDI's MiniCat is the first compressed air powered vehicle available for the millenium. With a range of 120 miles in urban conditions, at a maximum speed of 60 mph, the MiniCat is the only car that actually emits cleaner air than the air we breath.

The new "tzero" from AC Propulsion accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4.07 seconds! You'll be able to compete with your race car buddies in this vehicle! Competitively priced at $80k.

Venturi Fetish
The Venturi Fetish is a high performance sports car built in Monaco.  The drive train is manufactured by AC Propulsion and it also uses their Li Ion battery pack.  It's top speed is over 100 miles per hour, it goes from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, and the Li Ion battery pack gives it a range of up to 120 -200 miles.  It can be charged in about 3 hours at 80 amps but a full charge on a 110v circuit at 16amps requires 16.5 hours. The Fetish is currently being sold in Europe, Japan and California, USA.  The cars are hand made to order and cost ¤450,000 (or $630,000 at current exchange rates).  They're planning to build just 25 of these sports cars so they will be very rare and unique vehicle.
